In the 1976 run for state, Coach Witt’s Panther’s placed fourth. His coaching assistant for years was John Alexander. Nearly 27 years ago, in February 1991, Eisenhower’s gym was named in Bob’s honor. In his 20 years coaching the Panthers, Witt's teams won 310 games, lost 221, and won seven straight regional championships capturing twelve overall. Coach shared that he didn’t care about wins and losses, he wanted to see how his players adjusted to the competition and what groups of players played best together.
