Ida Brooks coached Eisenhower Panthers girls’ basketball for 10 years where she compiled an impressive record, including back-to-back regional championships in 1983-84 and 1984-85 where the 1984 team advanced to the super-sectionals. Hall of Fame athlete, Dawn Pitman, was one of Brooks' "twin towers" as she called her girls--Pitman and Kim Harris. She won 145 games and lost only 70 games earning three regional titles. In December 2016, Eisenhower honored Ida with naming the practice facility after her.
