One of the city’s best ever softball power hitters was also an outstanding defensive shortstop for the Panthers. A four-year starter who was also all county in basketball, Emily was Herald & Review’s Macon County Player of the Year during her senior year with a batting average of .532 with 15 home runs, 10 doubles and 52 RBIs. Upon graduation, Emily was the IHSA’s All-time recorder holder for doubles where her 61 stat remains the 14th all time and holds the single season and career records for home runs and RBIs.
