Eisenhower’s Head Boys Track & Field coach Greg Collingwood produced a large number of quality cross country and track & field athletes, including DPS Hall Of Famer, Adam Hodges. As head boys track & field coach for 22 years, Collingwood’s teams earned two 8th place team finishes back-to-back years in ‘91 and ‘92 and won three Sectional titles. Overall, Collingwood had 105 relay and individual IHSA state qualifiers, 33 relay and individual state finalists, 21 relay and individual All-State athletes, and two individual State Champions. As a boys track & field coach, Collingwood received Decatur Athletic Council Male Coach of the Year in 1995 and was a six time Macon County Coach of the Year.

In addition to track & field Collingwood coached boys and girls cross country for 23 years. In 1996 his girls team placed 15th at State and won a regional title in 2004. Collingwood had 12 individual cross country IHSA state qualifiers and one All-State athlete. Collingwood was named Area Girls Coach of the year in 1995 just before he was deemed Illinois Track & Cross Country Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 1996. When he hung up his hat as a coach, he became Eisenhower’s Athletic Director for five years until his retirement in 2017.
